Zombieland: Double Tap Director Teases Spin-Off Film Focusing On Madison

Zombieland: Double Tap has turned out to be an entertaining sequel to the 2009 film but is it possible that we'll be seeing yet another movie? Ruben Fleischer has just teased on a spin-off film that will focus on the sequel's scene-stealing character Madison.

Fleischer recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter where he brought up the idea of a spin-off movie. Interestingly, it won't be focusing on the characters we've already met in the first film. Instead, the spin-off will follow Madison, the blonde survivor played by Zoey Deutch.

"I would love to do a Madison standalone movie," Fleischer admitted. "So, I think that story remains to be written. That would be a fun thing to go find out. That actually would've been a good post-credit scene where those two [Madison and Berkeley] are in Babylon just being pretty dumb together."

Madison is definitely a fun character who managed to survive the zombie apocalypse with barely any survival skills. The same goes for Berkeley, who is played by Avan Jogia. Could a prequel film that shows Madison's origin story happen in the future? We'll be waiting for more updates from Fleischer.

Zombieland: Double Tap brought back Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin as Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock. The other new cast members include Rosario Dawson as Nevada, Luke Wilson as Albuquerque, and Thomas Middleditch as Flagstaff. There's even a surprise cameo from Bill Murray, who takes on multiple zombies in the mid-credits scene.

The film is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
