Wreck-It-Ralph 2 Removes Kylo Ren 'Spoiled Child' Joke At Lucasfilm Request

Kylo Ren's tantrums in Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been an ongoing meme for several fans. However, Lucasfilm actually forbade Disney from adding a "spoiled child" joke about Ben Solo in Ralph Breaks The Internet.

Wreck-It-Ralph 2 will undoubtedly feature several pop culture references. The sequel originally wanted to poke fun at Kylo but needed to remove the joke at the request of Lucasfilm. According to IGN, co-director Rich Moore revealed what happened to the joke.

"At one point we had a joke about Kylo Ren being kind of a spoiled child. We went to Lucasfilm and said, here's what we're doing. And they said, 'Well, we'd prefer that you don't show him as a spoiled child. You know, he is our villain, and we'd prefer you don't do that.' So we were respectful of that."

Although Wreck-It-Ralph 2 will not be making fun of Kylo for being a brat, there's still a possibility that the character will be referenced in the sequel. This way, the film could still feature a bit of Star Wars without offending Lucasfilm. Nevertheless, we're hoping we can get a glimpse of the deleted joke sometime in the future.

Wreck-It-Ralph 2 has gone through several changes in the past few months. It was previously reported that the film had to reanimate Princess Tiana after backlash over the character's allegedly white-washed appearance showed up in promo images. The sequel will now have a more appropriate-looking Tiana with "bigger nose and lips."

Ralph Breaks The Internet is scheduled for release on November 21.
