Westworld Season 4 Possibly Bringing Back Man in Black as Major Villain

There is little doubt that people are already expecting big things now that Westworld has been renewed for a fourth season. But what can we look forward to in Season 4? Co-creator Jonathan Nolan may have revealed that it's all about the Man in Black and how he's set to be the Big Bad all over again.

Nolan recently took part in a virtual roundtable by the Paley Center for Media where he was joined by the cast of the HBO series. Interestingly, the co-creator and writer teased that fans will see more of Ed Harris' character in Westworld Season 4 and that William will play a major role once again.

"I'm a big believer in being guided by irony," Nolan said. "[William] winds up becoming this thing [a host] that he's controlled for so long. And on a visceral level, I just can't wait to watch Ed kill everyone."

Wait, what does that mean? Although Nolan did not elaborate, there are speculations that the Man in Black (or at least the host version) will be the major villain in the upcoming season. For now, we're just happy to know that we haven't seen the last of Harris and we're already looking forward to seeing him again in the fourth season.

Westworld Season 4 has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, the series is set to return on HBO in the next two years.
