We're already looking forward to the premiere of Westworld Season 3 especially since a mysterious new player will be introduced in the HBO series. But what exactly is the role that Aaron Paul's character will play in Dolores' story? Evan Rachel Wood weighed in on the relationship between her character and the mysterious Caleb.
Wood spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Westworld 3 where she was asked whether Caleb will be a love interest or an ally to Dolores. Interestingly, Wood pointed out that the relationship is hard to define.
"It's nothing black and white," she said. "It's very complicated."
Wood also stated that romance isn't something that her character is interested in right now.
"Her one true love will always be Teddy, they're bound together. She's lost him now. She's lost her core program," she added. "It's gonna be a journey for her and certainly a journey for anybody who develops feelings for Dolores, especially a human. A fish and a bird may fall in love, but where would they build their nest?"
Now that sounds intriguing. Is it possible that this is a friendship that could develop into something greater in Season 3? And will it derail Dolores from her current motivations? We'll find out soon enough.
Westworld Season 3 also stars Tessa Thompson, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, Rodrigo Santoro, Luke Hemsworth, and Ed Harris. The new season will air on HBO on March 15.
