Warner Bros Developing 3 More Fantastic Beasts Films

It looks like Harry Potter fans will have new movies to look forward to in the next few years. It has been revealed that Warner Bros. is still developing three more Fantastic Beasts films including the still-untitled Fantastic Beasts 3.

It was previously confirmed that Fantastic Beasts 3 has been given the green light and is expected to begin filming in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in April 2020. However, a new report from Variety reveals that it's hardly the last movie in the Harry Potter spin-off film series. The report states that Warner Bros. has every intention of pursuing the promised five films in the new franchise. This means that we'll be seeing more of Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore for at least 10 more years.

This isn't about Fantastic Beasts breaking away from the trilogy trend. After all, the initial announcement about the Harry Potter spin-off back in 2013 already indicated that there would be five movies. However, it does mean that Dumbledore's story (yes, it's not even about magical creatures anymore) will be extended throughout three more films and conclude with the epic showdown between the Hogwarts headmaster and Gellert Grindelwald.

Fantastic Beasts 3 will bring back Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Claudia Kim. Law is also expected to reprise his role as the young Dumbledore and former Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp is set to play an even larger role as Grindelwald.

Fantastic Beasts 3 has not yet been given an official title but is already scheduled for release on November 12, 2021.
