Tom Holland Says He'll Still Play Spider-Man After MCU Split

The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have lost Spider-Man but that doesn't mean that Tom Holland will no longer be playing Peter Parker. The Spider-Man: Far From Home star has confirmed that he will continue to play the webslinger in more movies.

Holland was recently in attendance at D23 Expo 2019 to promote his new Pixar film Onward. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the Avengers: Endgame star admitted that Spider-Man's brief stay in the MCU has been great.

"Basically, we've made five great movies. It's been five amazing years. I've had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds?" Holland said. He then added that he is still expected to portray Peter in more films.

"All I know is that I'm going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It's going to be so fun, however we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we'll find new ways to make it even cooler," Holland concluded.

There is little doubt that Holland is a tiny bit disappointed that his character will no longer be a part of the MCU. Nevertheless, he seems determined to continue playing Spider-Man in more Sony films.

Holland had previously addressed the issue while onstage at D23, admitting that it has been "a crazy week." However, he had the following message for fans: "I want you to know I am grateful from the bottom of my heart and I love you 3,000."

Holland's new movie Onward is scheduled for release on March 4, 2020.
