Tom Holland Finally Breaks Silence About Spider-Man's MCU Exit

It seems like everyone has been airing their opinions about the recent Sony/Disney drama that prompted Spider-Man having to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But what does Tom Holland really have to say about it? The Spider-Man: Far From Home star has just broken his silence about the issue.

Holland made a surprise appearance at D23 Expo 2019 to promote his new animated film Onward at the Disney Pictures panel (via Deadline). The Avengers: Endgame star took time to address the issue before promoting the Pixar movie.

"It's been a crazy week," Holland told the audience, "but I want you to know I am grateful from the bottom of my heart and I love you 3,000."

Ouch, he really said that. It certainly sounds like Spider-Man is not going to be returning to the MCU no matter how many petitions fans sign. Nevertheless, Holland seems determined to just move forward, which is probably something Tony Stark would want Peter Parker to do.

It was previously reported that Sony has decided to take back Spider-Man after they failed to make an agreement with Disney on how to continue their special partnership. Unfortunately, this means that Marvel Studios will no longer be able to use Spider-Man in their future films.

Onward also features Holland's Endgame co-star Chris Pratt. The two actors provide the voices of elf brothers who are on a journey to find out if magic still exists in their home.

Onward is scheduled for release on March 4, 2020.
