It has already been more than two weeks since Tom Hanks confirmed that he and wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for the Coronavirus. Now, the Toy Story star has revealed that the couple has already been allowed to fly home after staying in quarantine in Australia.
Hanks took to his official Twitter account to share the news. Take a look at his tweet below.
"Hey, Folks ... We're home now and, like the rest of America, we carry on with sheltering in place and social distancing. Many, many thanks to everyone in Australia who looked after us. Their care and guidance made possible our return to the USA. And many thanks to all of you who reached out with well wishes. Rita and I so appreciate it. Hanx," the note read.
Hanks and Wilson confirmed their diagnosis on March 12 and the couple has since been kept in quarantine in Australia. Nevertheless, the Saving Private Ryan star kept offering positive updates about their condition.
Hanks is not the only high-profile celebrity who has tested positive for COVID-19. It was previously reported that Thor: Ragnarok star Idris Elba, Game of Thrones actors Kristofer Hivju and Indira Varma, as well as former Bond Girl Olga Kurylenko, have all had the same diagnosis. Hopefully, all the actors will have the same fate as Hanks and his wife.
Several major productions have been shut down amidst the pandemic. In addition to that, the release of big films like Black Widow and No Time to Die has been postponed by their studios.
