Tilda Swinton Reportedly Joins Bong Joon-Ho's Parasite TV Series

It has only been a week since Parasite won the Best Film award at the Oscars but it looks like the series adaptation that will air on HBO is already finalizing its cast. A new report reveals that longtime Bong Joon-Ho collaborator Tilda Swinton will be a major part of the planned HBO show.

The report comes from The Illuminerdi, which purports that Swinton is set to appear in the Parasite series. The star of Avengers: Endgame will reportedly play the female lead in the new show. There is a possibility that Swinton will portray Park Chung-sook, the mother of the Kim family who was originally played by Jang Hye-jin in the film.

It's not a huge surprise that Swinton could join the project. After all, she has previously worked with Bong on Snowpiercer and Okja. However, it's important to point out that HBO has not yet confirmed the casting so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

Swinton isn't the only big name who could join the Parasite series. A previous report suggested that her Endgame co-star Mark Ruffalo is being considered for the role of Kim Ki-taek, the father of the Kim family who was played by Song Kang-ho in the movie.

Parasite is the first Korean film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. In addition to that, it also earned the Best Director Oscar for Bong as well as the Best International Feature Film and Best Original Screenplay awards.
