The Witcher's Henry Cavill Teases Modern Take On Geralt's Roach

People have been talking about the possible casting of important characters in the upcoming Netflix series The Witcher. While everyone has been concerned about who will be cast as Yennefer or Ciri, Henry Cavill has been wondering about Geralt of Rivia's most trusted steed Roach.

Cavill, who has been cast as Geralt in the show, is clearly excited to begin work on The Witcher. The Justice League actor decided to tease on a possible modern take on his character's horse in a recent Instagram post. Check out the image below.

"If Roach were a motorbike I reckon she'd probably look a little like this," Cavill wrote. "So, I figured I'd take the mechanical Roach out for one last ride before meeting the real Roach soon."

Although it is unlikely that Roach will be played by a motorbike, it's great to see that Cavill is already looking forward to working on The Witcher. There are speculations that production will begin in the next few weeks.

The casting of the Netflix series has been a heated subject for Witcher fans. People were understandably enthusiastic when Cavill was confirmed for the show. However, several fans were dismayed when a casting call rumor suggested that the network is looking to cast an actress of color for the role of Ciri. Nevertheless, there have been reports that the rumor was untrue and a Polish actress could play the character.

There have been no updates yet on who will portray Ciri or Yennefer in the series but Netflix is already auditioning for the two roles. A younger Ciri, aged 14 to 16, is set to appear in the show. Hopefully, we will be getting a new announcement in the next month.

The Witcher release date has not yet been confirmed. The series is expected to air on Netflix sometime in 2019.
