It has been several weeks since production on The Witcher Season 2 was put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak but it looks like the Netflix series could resume filming soon. It has just been confirmed that the UK has signed off on a new set of safety guidelines for its massive production industry that will allow major projects being filmed in the country to get back to work.

The news comes from The Guardian, which confirms that the UK government is giving the go-signal for major productions to resume as long as they adhere by the new rules. Since The Witcher Season 2 is being filmed in the country, there is a good chance that the show will resume production as early as mid-June or as late as early July.

Interestingly, Henry Cavill may have teased on the possibility that he will be returning to work soon. The Justice League actor previously shared an image on his official Instagram account revealing that he is working out again. Not surprisingly, fans believed that Cavill is getting back into shape so he could resume playing Geralt of Rivia.

The second season of The Witcher was already in production when COVID-19 forced all major projects to shut down to avoid the spread of the virus. It is unclear how far filming has gone by the time it was put on hold. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The Witcher Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is expected to air on Netflix by 2021.
