The Witcher Season 2 Offers First Look at Princess Ciri in Training

The Witcher Season 2 has finally resumed production and it looks like we're getting more awesome updates on the highly anticipated new chapter of the epic story. Yesterday, we got our first look at Geralt of Rivia's new armor. Today, we finally get to see Princess Ciri begin her training to become a fearsome warrior.

The new Witcher Season 2 images were shared from showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich on her official Twitter account. Check them out below.

"Someone's ready to stop running and start fighting. Cirilla of Cintra in #WitcherS2," Hissrich wrote.

The first photo only shows Ciri's hand reaching for a wooden sword for her training while the second picture reveals what Freya Allan's character will look like in action. It's an awesome tease at things to come in The Witcher Season 2.

There is little doubt that Ciri was going to begin training right away in the second season. After all, it has already been confirmed that The Witcher had cast Eskel, Geralt's fellow witcher who becomes her mentor in the books. Although Thue Rassmussen was initially cast as Eskel, he has since left the project due to scheduling conflict and the character will now be played by Basil Eidenbenz.

So far, we have only seen a glimpse at Geralt and Ciri in The Witcher Season 2. Hopefully, we'll also get to see Anya Chalotra's Yennefer before the end of the week.

The Witcher Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, the show is expected to return on Netflix by next year.
