The Witcher SDCC Trailer Teases Geralt Of Rivia In Action

It has been a truly long wait but the first trailer for The Witcher has just been dropped at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Not surprisingly, it offers awesome footage of Geralt of Rivia in action.

The trailer opens with a man saying that he has heard stories about the Witchers. "Is it true what they say?" he asks as Geralt (Henry Cavill) is shown all bloodied.

We also get a little history lesson about how humans learned to use magic. It was the elves who were the original sorcerers but they had taught humans how to "turn chaos into magic" to defeat the monsters. Unfortunately, humans then slaughtered the elves.

There are brief glimpses at Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) taking control of her powers and Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon (Freya Allan) realizing that she is destined for something greater. We even get a fleeting shot of Triss Merigold (Anna Shaffer) addressing Geralt and asking if that's all that life is to him. "Monsters and money?" she asks. "It's all it needs to be," he replies.

Overall, it's an awesome tease of what fans can look forward to this November. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn't reveal when The Witcher will begin streaming on Netflix. Hopefully, the release date will be announced within the next few weeks.

The description for The Witcher reads as follows:

"Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together."

The Witcher is expected to premiere on Netflix this November.
