There is little doubt that people are already looking forward to the still-untitled John Wick 4 especially since it means that there will be a major war. However, the highly-anticipated film could get delayed due to Keanu Reeves having to work on The Matrix 4.
Lance Riddick, who has worked with Reeves in all three John Wick films, has spoken to Comicbook.com about the fourth movie. Unfortunately, Riddick suggests that Reeves' hectic schedule means that the sequel will be delayed.
"Last I heard, there wasn't a script yet but that was a month ago," Riddick said of John Wick 4. He then added that Reeves is somehow the reason for the delay.
"I know they're working on it but part of the problem in terms of scheduling now is that Keanu signed on to do The Matrix 4 and he has the new Bill & Ted coming up," he said. "He has three franchises he's juggling so I'm just not sure if he's going to do The Matrix 4 or John Wick next."
It's no secret that Reeves is a truly busy man. He has appeared in several films in 2019 alone and is expected to work on more movies in the following year. One of these films just happens to be the fourth Matrix movie, which will also bring back Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity. We already know that the film will begin shooting next year so this means John Wick 4 will have to wait.
The Matrix has not yet been given an official release date while John Wick 4 is already scheduled for release on May 21, 2021.
