The Matrix 4 Filming Reportedly Causes Explosion With Severe Damages in San Francisco

If you're going to be filming a movie like The Matrix 4, you would expect some major explosions. Unfortunately for the city of San Francisco, these explosive scenes are causing some major damages throughout the city.

A new report from NBC Bay Area reveals that several San Francisco residents have been complaining about how filming for the highly anticipated sequel has been disruptive around the city. For instance, some workers have confirmed that an explosion that was shot for the film had caused $2,000 worth of plastic to melt. The plastic was being used to cover an advertising sign.

"We just saw the plastic that was all melted, so we didn't know what was going on," Encar Orozco of JCDecaux Street Furniture said. "We called our manager and we found out that it was some explosion for the movie."

The plastic wasn't the only thing that was damaged by the explosion. It was also revealed that several cars were flipped and some building lamps had melted covers as well.

Although most residents are already complaining about all these disruptions, some are hopeful that Warner Bros. is aware of the damages and that the studio is ready to cover the costs of repair.

"I guess the cost of doing business," San Francisco resident Marianne Sarrazin said. "As long as they take safety precautions. But things happen. If they're going to cover the cost of the damage, I guess I'm OK with it."

It's all about perspective, I guess. While others are thrilled about having a huge movie being shot next door, some are not happy about all the noise. Nevertheless, it's an exciting time to be in San Francisco.

The Matrix 4 is directed by Lana Wachowski and will bring back Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as Neo and Trinity, respectively. The film is scheduled for release on May 21, 2021.
