The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 1 had Unexpected Deadwood Reunion

The first episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 was a triumph for fans who have been betting that Timothy Olyphant is playing a particular character who appears in the Star Wars books. However, it looks like Chapter 9: The Marshal was also a victory for Deadwood fans who got an amazing reunion of sorts for two of the HBO show's cast members.

It has long been confirmed that Olyphant will be a special guest star in The Mandalorian Season 2 although his role was not initially revealed. Nevertheless, fans theorized that the Hitman star would be cast as someone similar to his Deadwood character Seth Bullock.

Luckily, people were not disappointed when Olyphant was introduced as Cobb Vanth, the marshal of the Tatooine city Mos Pelgo. However, fans may have also missed out on the other cameo of a Deadwood star.

When Mando arrives in Mos Pelgo, he heads to a tavern looking for the other Mandalorian in the city. He encounters the Weequay who owns the place who directs him to the Marshal. Amazingly, that same Weequay was actually played by Deadwood actor W. Earl Brown.

We're loving the idea that the Weequay and the Marshal are close friends in The Mandalorian Season 2. After all, Olyphant's Bullock was also in good terms with Brown's Dan Dority in Deadwood. Needless to say, it was a welcome reunion of sorts for fans of the show.

The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 1 is now available for streaming on Disney+.
