The Mandalorian Season 2 Character had Surprise Connection to Darth Maul

There is little doubt that viewers were impressed with Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth as she used a Beskar steel spear against Ahsoka Tano's two lightsabers in The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 5. Not surprisingly, some have even compared the Magistrate's moves to Darth Maul, who famously wielded a double-bladed lightsaber. However, it has been revealed that this isn't the only connection she has with the Star Wars villain.

Some interesting details about Morgan have been revealed by the hairstylist who worked with actress Diana Lee Inosanto on The Mandalorian Season 2. The caption has since been edited but you can check out the original post in the screenshot below.

According to the hairstylist for the Mandalorian, Morgan Elsbeth/the Magistrate is one of the last survivors of Dathomir.

That's right, Morgan actually comes from the exact same planet where Maul was born. Of course, they don't look alike but this could confirm that Dathomir was home to several different races and species and wasn't just inhabited by the Nightsisters.

So, is that little nod to Dathomir a possible clue that we'll be seeing Maul in The Mandalorian Season 2? Sadly, it's unlikely considering that the character is long gone. On the other hand, it could be a tease at a spin-off series that would focus on Maul that is reportedly being planned by Disney and Lucasfilm.

For now, a Maul project has not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
