The Mandalorian Director Taika Waititi Spotted Working On Star Wars Series With Jon Favreau


It looks like The Mandalorian is working out pretty well. The latest update on the Star Wars series confirms that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi is currently filming his episode with the help of showrunner Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni.

Fans were understandably delighted when it was announced that Waititi would be one of the directors working on an episode of The Mandalorian. Interesting, Making Star Wars has found a video of the What We Do in the Shadows star on the set of the Disney+ series. According to the report, it looks like Waititi is the one in charge while taking some tips from Favreau and Filoni, who has also been confirmed to direct the premiere episode.

The video also features a few unmasked Stormtroopers rehearsing for an action sequence. There are speculations that Waititi's episode will be the season finale. However, this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

The Mandalorian is turning out to be an all-star series. It was previously reported that former Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal would be playing the lead in the show. In addition to that, Deadpool actress Gina Carano has been cast in a mystery role. There are also rumors that Predator actor Carl Weathers will appear in the series although the casting has not yet been confirmed. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to the exciting new show.

The air date of The Mandalorian has not yet been announced. Nevertheless, the series is expected to be the first show to debut on Disney+ in late 2019.
