There is little doubt that people are already looking forward to the live-action remake of The Lion King. Now we have our first glimpse at the cast including Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, and Billy Eichner.
Rogen shared the awesome photo on his official Instagram account. The image features the Kung Fu Panda star with Glover, Eichner, and Lion King director Jon Favreau. Take a look at the post below.
The picture was taken during one of the film's recording sessions and confirms that the cast is certainly having fun with their work. Glover will play Simba while Eichner has been cast as Timon. Rogen will portray Timon's best friend Pumbaa.
It's a great photo that has everyone excited for the upcoming movie. We certainly can't wait to see the finished product next year.
The Lion King also stars Beyonce Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, John Kani as Rafiki, John Oliver as Zazu, and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi. Black Panther actress Florence Kasumba will provide the voice of Shenzi, the hyena leader. Eric Andre will play another hyena Azizi while Keegan-Michael Key will portray Kamari, the live-action version of the hyena named Ed from the animated flick.
The film reportedly started production in 2017 yet the cast is still recording their lines. Nevertheless, we are hoping for the best for the Disney film.
Favreau is also working on the new Star Wars series The Mandalorian, which began production earlier in October.
The Lion King is scheduled for release on July 19, 2019.
