The Batman Trailer Featured Unexpected Twilight Reference

He might be the new Caped Crusader but Robert Pattinson hasn't forgotten any of Edward Cullen's signature moves. The new trailer for The Batman shows Bruce Wayne taking on the dark side of Gotham City but at one point, it looks like he was paying tribute to one of Twilight's most memorable scenes.

In the trailer, it is immediately confirmed that the Riddler is trying to get the attention of The Batman. One of the things he does is send a man to crash his car into a building, endangering the people inside. Luckily, Bruce is also inside and realizes that someone is in the rampaging car's way so he tackles the man to make sure he isn't driven over by the vehicle.

But wait, does that look familiar? Several fans were quick to point out that it was strikingly similar to the way Pattinson's Edward had saved Bella Swan's life in the first Twilight movie.

It's unclear if Matt Reeves knew what he was doing when he was shooting that scene but that hasn't stopped fans from pointing out the cinematic parallels between The Batman and Twilight. At this point, we're just glad to get a glimpse at what to expect in the new DC film.

The Batman also stars Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Barry Keoghan, Jayme Lawson, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The film is currently in production and is scheduled for release on October 1, 2021.
