The Batman Star Robert Pattinson Drops Out Of New Film Citing Scheduling Conflict

New Batman actor Robert Pattinson is already experiencing some problems after being named the new Caped Crusader. The Twilight star has just dropped out from a new film due to scheduling conflict.

Back in May, it was announced that Pattinson would appear in the sequel to Joanna Hogg's The Souvenir alongside Honor Swinton-Byrne and Tilda Swinton. However, the Harry Potter actor's schedule has since become rather hectic considering that he is juggling two other high-profile projects which are The Batman and Christopher Nolan's Tenet. Unfortunately, Indiewire reports that this had led to Pattinson having to bow out of The Souvenir II: Part Two.

Although he is no longer able to work on the new drama, Pattinson reportedly stated that he wants to work with Hogg in the future.

"Despite Rob's strong desire to do the film, scheduling proved impossible but he very much looks forward to working with Joanna on something down the line," Pattinson's representative said.

Just to be clear, Pattinson didn't back out from The Souvenir 2 because of The Batman. The Rover star's schedule with Tenet is the main reason why he had left the sequel. Pattinson is currently working on the mysterious Nolan film and is expected to begin work on the Matt Reeves flick soon after.

The premise of Tenet is still a huge mystery but it was previously revealed that Pattinson was locked in a room while he was reading the script. Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen for the Water for Elephants actor when he gets the script for The Batman.

Tenet is expected to premiere by 2020. The Batman is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
