Fans who have been concerned about the future of the DC Extended Universe are in for some good news. The script for The Batman is reportedly finished and has been sent to Warner Bros. for approval.

The news comes from The Wrap in response to a fan asking for updates on the Batman standalone flick. The tweet confirms that director Matt Reeves has finally finished work on the script. Check out the post below.

This is certainly great news since people have been hoping that The Batman would begin production later next year and could be set for a 2020 release. However, it is still unclear if Ben Affleck will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in the standalone movie.

Affleck recently entered rehab after his estranged wife Jennifer Garner staged an intervention in late August. Garner drove the Justice League star to a live-in rehabilitation facility so he can get help in dealing with alcohol addiction. It was not revealed how long Affleck would need to stay in the center.

Although it might take some time before Affleck would be released from rehab, fans are hopeful that he will come out in time for the start of production. After all, The Batman is not expected to begin filming until late 2019 so there is hope that the actor will be back in fighting form by then.

They might still have their Batman but the DCEU could be in need of a new Superman. It was recently reported that Henry Cavill will no longer reprise his role as the Man of Steel following a fall-out on negotiations between his management and Warner Bros.
