The Batman: Robert Pattinson Says He Respects Every Iteration of DC Hero

It's no secret that Robert Pattinson isn't the first man to play Bruce Wayne. However, the star of The Batman still has huge respect for all the actors who took on the role before him.

Pattinson recently spoke to Today where he admitted that he's already excited to play Batman. In addition to that, he has massive respect for everyone who has been a part of the DC superhero's long cinematic history.

"I love the kind of history of the part," Pattinson confessed. "I love every iteration of how it's been played. It's a very, very special part and I think it's been very carefully — I feel like everyone's really looked after the character and its history and there's a lot of reverence for it. You can really feel it in the studio. You can't say no to it and I really wanted to say yes."

We can't really blame the guy for wanting to be the next Batman. Although the character has been portrayed by dozens before him, there is little doubt that most of these men looked up to Batman when they were kids. Needless to say, we can't wait to see Pattinson don the cowl.

The Batman will also star Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone. The film is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
