The Batman Reportedly Bringing Back Jonathan Crane AKA Scarecrow

It looks like The Batman should be retitled The Batman Rogues Gallery. A new report claims that the upcoming DC flick is adding yet another villain to its already amazing cast. But who will play Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow in the Robert Pattinson movie?

The report from We Got It Covered cites multiple sources claiming that the Matt Reeves film is currently looking for the perfect actor to portray the Master of Fear. In the meantime, Scarecrow is said to be played by a stuntman for a brief cameo until someone gets cast for the role. The scenes featuring Crane could then be reshot to include the new actor.

Crane might not be the most popular Batman villain out there but he has already been played by an actor who embodied the character quite well. Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy portrayed Crane in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy and it's hard to imagine anybody else taking on the role. Nevertheless, we're already curious as to who will be cast as Scarecrow in The Batman.

The idea of adding yet another villain in the upcoming movie could be interesting but it is important to point out that the casting has not yet been confirmed by Warner Bros. With that in mind, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

The Batman will also star Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Penguin, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone. The movie will hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
