The Batman Adds Peter Sarsgaard In Mystery Role Opposite Robert Pattinson

It looks like The Batman has added yet another awesome name to its already stellar cast. Matt Reeves has just confirmed that Peter Sarsgaard will be joining the highly-anticipated DC film opposite Robert Pattinson.

Reeves has been rather upfront about confirming most of the castings for The Batman so it's no surprise when he tweeted a gif of Sarsgaard. Check it out below.

That doesn't really tell us much about Sarsgaard's role in The Batman. However, The Hollywood Reporter suggests that the Magnificent Seven star may have been cast as "a corrupt cop named Wasserman or a district attorney." If Sarsgaard is going to be a lawyer, it could mean that we'll be seeing another version of Harvey Dent aka Two-Face.

Sarsgaard would be an awesome choice to play Dent in the upcoming DC movie. After all, we know this is one guy who can be charming and terrifying at the same time. However, it is important to point out that the role has not yet been confirmed. We'll be waiting for an official update from Warner Bros.

The Batman will also star Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone. As you can see, it's already an impressive cast and adding Sarsgaard might not be the last thing we'll hear from this film.

The movie is currently in pre-production and is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
