But is it possible that the mysterious project will begin production very soon? A new report reveals that the Thor: Love and Thunder director is currently scouting filming locations for the movie.

The report comes from The Daily Record, which reveals that a crew will be flying to Scotland to film for about three days in the Highlands. The crew will be taking footage of the snow-capped mountains and scenic views. Although details about the project were kept under wraps, it was confirmed that it would be for Waititi's project.

A source spoke to the outlet to express their excitement over the film.

"It's great that Star Wars have decided to use Scotland's breathtaking scenery for some of their first production shots," the source said. "The film is still a few years away thanks to the Covid crisis but it will be very exciting for fans to hear that the ball has started rolling on this highly anticipated movie."

A Highland Council spokesman echoed the excitement over the project.

"The council's film office welcomes a range of productions to Highland, who in turn bring significant economic benefits to the area as they use local facilities and services," the spokesman said. "It is particularly welcome to see an increase in interest in Highland at the moment as many productions are unable to film overseas and are looking for different and high-quality locations in the UK."

Waititi and Lucasfilm have not yet addressed the planned filming. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
