Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown Says Failed Game Of Thrones Audition Almost Made Her Quit Acting

There is little doubt that Stranger Things made Millie Bobby Brown the huge star that she is today. However, there was a time when the Enola Holmes actress almost quit acting. Interestingly, it had a lot to do with a failed audition in a coveted role in Game of Thrones.

Brown was recently a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where she shared how hard it was to get roles when she was just starting out.

"I think I was just very disheartened by the rejection, which is something I tell everyone. This industry is just full of rejection 24/7. You get 'No's, a lot of 'No's, before you get a 'Yes.' And I was auditioning for commercials, for anything really," Brown said before admitting that she tried out for a huge role in the HBO series.

"I then auditioned for Game of Thrones and I got a 'No' for that. Then, that's when I was like, 'This is really difficult,' and I guess I really wanted that role," Brown said. "So one of my last sort of goes at all this was a Netflix show called Montauk."

Of course, that series would choose Brown to play a strange young girl with powers. The show was then renamed Stranger Things and the rest, as it all goes, is history.

But wait, which role was it that Brown auditioned for? That would be for the initially tiny part of Lyanna Mormont, who would be played by Bella Ramsey. Ramsey turned out to be a major scene-stealer who convinced the writers to give the character a bigger role in the later seasons of Game of Thrones.

Brown is currently filming for Stranger Things Season 4, which is expected to premiere on Netflix next year.
