Stranger Things: Hopper's Survival Possibly Teased in Important Season 1 Moment

One of the biggest questions about Stranger Things Season 4 is undoubtedly the fate of Jim Hopper. Did he actually die in the previous finale or is there any possibility that he actually survived the explosion? Interestingly, a new theory suggests that a memorable moment from the first season had confirmed Hopper's survival.

In the Season 3 finale, Hopper sacrificed himself so that Joyce Byers and the others would survive. However, the post-credits scene also revealed that the Russians had imprisoned someone merely called "the American" in Kamchatka. Not surprisingly, several fans believe that this might be Hopper.

So what are the chances that Hopper is still alive? A theory from Screenrant points out that a song that was played in the first season was used again in the Season 3 finale. Interestingly, it was Peter Gabriel's Heroes, the track that played when Will Byers' body was discovered.

The theory purports that the song was played to supposedly confirm the death of Will although it was later revealed that the body was fake and Will was still in the Upside Down. The same track can be heard while Eleven read the letter that Hopper left for her. With that in mind, there is a possibility that Heroes might mean that Hopper's death is a fake-out.

It's an interesting theory that gives fans hope about Hopper's survival. However, it is important to point out that this is not yet confirmed so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

Stranger Things Season 4 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on Netflix next year.
