Stargate Actor Campaigns for Role in The Orville

It seems like anyone who's anyone wants to be a part of The Orville. Jonathan Frakes of Star Trek: The Next Generation has previously admitted that he would like to play an alien on the sci-fi series. Now former Stargate SG-1 actor Corin Nemec is campaigning to appear in The Orville Season 3 and he's doing everything he can to secure a role on the Fox show.

Nemec took part in a video where he admits he is a huge Orville fan and points out that Stargate SG-1 fans who watch the series will be delighted to see Jonas Quinn in Season 3. He also revealed that he had auditioned for a role in one of the third season's episodes and that he hasn't heard back from producers yet. So how is he planning to get the job? Nemec told fans that the episode will not begin filming until December 3 and implored them so start a "Twitterstorm" so he could get cast.

It's a brilliant campaign and Nemec does have a point: Most Stargate SG-1 fans do love The Orville. Not surprisingly, the hashtag #CorinOnOrville has been doing pretty well on Twitter so it's only a matter of time before he gets a call.

Although Nemec is going all out in his campaign, Frakes is taking a subdued approach in his effort to appear in The Orville. The Star Trek: Picard actor simply stated that he is interested in showing up in the show in "full alien regalia." Since Frakes already has a history with the series, we wouldn't be surprised if Seth McFarlane makes it work.

The Orville Season 3 is expected to air on Hulu late next year.
