Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker First Trailer Spoiled Epic Final Battle

Most fans probably didn't know what to expect in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, it looks like the first-ever trailer for Episode IX also spoiled the epic final battle in the film.

In the first trailer, which also revealed the film's official title, one of the most notable lines came from Luke Skywalker telling Rey, "A thousand generations live inside you now, but this is your fight." The dialogue immediately had fans wondering what Luke meant but as it turns out, it was a giveaway on how Rey would eventually defeat Emperor Palpatine.

Luke's inspiring words were finally heard after Palpatine drained Rey and Ben Solo's life essence and used it to attack the Resistance fleet. The exhausted Rey began trying to call on the Jedi and she was not disappointed as she heard several voices including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and Yoda. Naturally, Luke was the one who gave his former student the strength to go up against the villain.

It's interesting that the dialogue was featured in the first trailer and also happens to be the first words we hear from the film. Perhaps it was supposed to prepare fans for what would happen in The Rise of Skywalker. Unfortunately, it seems like people completely forgot about it and only remembered it when it was said in the movie.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
