Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Emotional Featurette Focuses on Friendship

We're only a couple of weeks away from the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker yet there are awesome new teasers still being released for the highly anticipated film. Interestingly, a new featurette focuses on how friendships made the Skywalker Saga a truly epic journey.

The featurette opens with Daisy Ridley explaining that Star Wars "means family." We're immediately treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the original trilogy featuring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and the late Carrie Fisher. However, there are also awesome looks at the sequel trilogy.

Ridley later states that the feeling on the set of The Rise of Skywalker "is one of joy" while John Boyega is just happy to "get a lot more scenes together" with Ridley and Oscar Isaac. Isaac also claims that the dynamic between the three co-stars captures the spirit of the original films. Ridley also points out that she is happy to have worked more closely with Isaac because Isaac and Boyega are "hilarious" together.

Clearly, working on The Rise of Skywalker was way too much fun for the stars as they are shown dancing around and having fun with Billy Dee Williams. Needless to say, we can't wait to feel all these emotions once Episode IX hits theaters later this December.

The synopsis for The Rise of Skywalker reads as follows:

"A year after the events of The Last Jedi, the remnants of the Resistance face the First Order once again—while reckoning with the past and their own inner turmoil. Meanwhile, the ancient conflict between the Jedi and the Sith reaches its climax, bringing the Skywalker saga to a definitive end."

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on December 20.
