Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Deleted Character Makes Epic Comeback Alongside Darth Vader

Remember when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was supposed to feature a strange spider-like creature that was perched on top of a giant baby's head? That would have been a truly odd fixture to see in the final film in the Skywalker Saga but the idea was ultimately scrapped. Amazingly, the Eye of Webbish Bog has just made an epic comeback and will be featured alongside Darth Vader in a new comic book.

The new covers for Star Wars: Darth Vader #8 have just been unveiled and one just happens to be illustrated by Raffaele Ienco. Interestingly, this particular cover shows the Sith Lord standing in Mustafar with a familiar creature behind him. Check it out below.

We're loving the idea that the creepy Eye of Webbish Bog will be playing a major role in Darth Vader #8. After all, the character, which was designed by Jake Lunt Davies and was referred to as the Oracle in the Rise of Skywalker concept art, was supposed to lead Kylo Ren to the Sith wayfinder in the film. We're not yet sure what will happen to Vader once he encounters the Eye in the comics but there is little doubt that it's going to be awesome.

The Eye of Webbish was a creature specifically designed for The Rise of Skywalker that would be part of a scene where Kylo heads for Mustafar and slaughters the cultists protecting the Oracle. The sequence, which had already been filmed and completed, had to be deleted due to runtime concerns.

Darth Vader #8 is written by Greg Pak and will be available starting December 16.
