Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Concept Art Reveals Heartbreaking Kylo Ren And Chewbacca Confrontation

One of the most shocking scenes in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was undoubtedly the capture (and fake killing) of Chewbacca while the heroes were on Pasaana. However, a newly released concept art may have confirmed that Chewie almost had another more painful dilemma to go through in Episode IX. Amazingly, it looks like Chewbacca was supposed to have a heartbreaking confrontation with Kylo Ren.

The concept art has been shared on Twitter and it depicts the shocking reunion of Kylo and Chewbacca after the latter was captured by the First Order. Check it out below.

It's a heartbreaking concept considering that Chewie is bound in front of the same man who killed his best friend Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Additionally, this is the same child that Chewbacca had probably helped raise. Sadly, we may not know what happened between them in the confrontation. Nevertheless, fans are hoping that the scene was filmed and could end up being added in the Episode IX director's cut.

Interestingly, Chewie and Kylo barely had any interactions in The Rise of Skywalker. The last time they even interacted was in The Force Awakens where Chewbacca shot at Kylo after the latter killed Han. Although it would have been awesome to see Chewie confront Ben Solo, we may never get to see this happen in the future.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is still screening in theaters worldwide.
