Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker CCXP Footage Features Extended Flying Stormtrooper Scene

Fans are currently enjoying a regular release of teasers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that offers awesome new footage from the highly anticipated film. Interestingly, the teaser that was unveiled at the 2019 Comic Con Experience reveals a little bit more about the epic chase between the heroes and those flying Stormtroopers.

The new footage was shared at CCXP (via IGN Brazil) and it's actually an extended cut of the Rise of Skywalker clip featuring the Jet Trooper chase. In the clip, the heroes are originally on foot before they come across an abandoned speeder skiff. Poe Dameron manages to fix it, allowing them to ride the vehicle. Unfortunately, it isn't long before they are spotted by the Stormtroopers.

We already know about the chase and the hilarious "They fly now" line but there's more action after this moment. They all end up in a canyon and BB-8 launches a canister of yellow smoke into the air to confuse the Stormtroopers. Finn then takes out the remaining trooper with Poe's help.

Unfortunately, the footage has not yet been officially released. Nevertheless, we're already looking forward to seeing all the action in The Rise of Skywalker.

The synopsis for Episode IX reads as follows:

"A year after the events of The Last Jedi, the remnants of the Resistance face the First Order once again—while reckoning with the past and their own inner turmoil. Meanwhile, the ancient conflict between the Jedi and the Sith reaches its climax, bringing the Skywalker saga to a definitive end."

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
