Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Might Reveal Sith Troopers As Revan's KOTOR Army

There is little doubt that the Sith Troopers are some of the things that fans are looking forward to in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. But who are they and how did the First Order acquire these elite soldiers in the first place? A new theory suggests that the Sith Troopers are actually a lot older than they appear. Interestingly, they might be the army that was carefully selected by Darth Revan in Knights of the Old Republic.

The origins of the new Sith Troopers are still a mystery but that hasn't stopped people from speculating about these new villains. After all, Sith troopers aren't exactly a new thing. The name was first introduced in Knights of the Old Republic where they were former members of the Republic Army who later joined the Sith Empire with Revan. Although their armor is very different from the new Sith Troopers, the Sith Commandos did wear red armor.

But is it possible that the new Sith Troopers are actually the same ones that appeared in KOTOR? Screen Rant points out that it is possible that Revan actually froze an army in carbonite. This is connected to the Sith army that the Nightsister Silri found in the Forces of Corruption expansion for the video game Star Wars: Empire at War.

So how do they end up in The Rise of Skywalker? Some believe that Kylo Ren might be responsible for finding the Sith army and bringing them back to life in Episode IX. This would be how the Sith Troopers end up with new armor as they work for the First Order.

It's certainly an interesting theory but it's still best to take it with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on December 20.
