Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Isn't Entirely 'An End', Says Kathleen Kennedy

The cast and crew of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker have been talking about how Episode IX will serve as the conclusion for the Skywalker Saga. However, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy is now claiming that it doesn't necessarily mean the end.

Kennedy recently spoke to the Star Wars Show during last week's Star Wars Celebration. Interestingly, she somehow teased that The Rise of Skywalker isn't the end of the Skywalker Saga.

"It's a mixed feeling of emotions. We don't look at it entirely as an end, but it is a culmination of the Skywalker story," Kennedy said.

This is certainly different from what everybody else is saying about Episode IX. Oscar Isaac has previously stated that The Rise of Skywalker would be the last Skywalker Saga movie. Nevertheless, it looks like the film will make way for a new saga in the future.

"I'm also incredibly excited about where we're going and what the future holds and what the new saga might be," Kennedy said.

We already know that Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is working on the new trilogy which is expected to kickstart the new saga. However, it is still unclear which characters the new trilogy will focus on.

There are speculations that the new saga could feature Daisy Ridley's Rey training a new generation of Force users and perhaps going up against a different villain. Hopefully, we will learn more about the new movies soon after the premiere of The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is scheduled for release on December 20.
