Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season Finale Was Directed By Taika Waititi

It looks like JoJo Rabbit's Taika Waititi had a truly important role to play in the first season of The Mandalorian. We already know that the Thor: Love and Thunder director would helm one of the show's episodes as well as provide the voice of the droid IG-11. However, Waititi's episode turned out to be the season finale of the Disney+ series.

The news comes from Geeks Worldwide, which reveals that Waititi was the director behind the eighth episode. Star Wars: The Clone Wars creator Dave Filoni directed the premiere and fifth episode while Dope's Rick Famuyiwa took over for the second and sixth episodes. Deborah Chow, who will work on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, directed Episode 3 and 7 while Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard worked on the sixth episode.

It's great to know that Waititi was given one of the biggest tasks in The Mandalorian. After all, the season finale could reveal what will happen in the second season of the series, which is currently in production. We're definitely looking forward to all of the eight episodes of Season 1.

Although we now know that Waititi will direct the final episode of The Mandalorian Season 1, it has not yet been revealed if he will also work on new episodes in the second season. Nevertheless, it was previously reported that Carl Weathers will helm one of the new episodes in Season 2.

The Mandalorian will finally be available for streaming on Disney+ on November 12.
