Star Wars: The Mandalorian Rifle Revealed To Be Boba Fett's Unusual Weapon

There is little doubt that The Mandalorian will be borrowing some of the awesome stuff from the Star Wars Universe. Interestingly, Jon Favreau may have chosen to take something from an unexpected incarnation of Boba Fett.

Favreau recently showed off some of the amazing props that will be used in The Mandalorian on his official Instagram account. One post offers a good look at what could be the lead character's favored weapon that was already featured in the first promo image. Did you think it was a Tusken Raiders rifle? Look again.

The weapon's butt certainly looks like a Tusken Cycler. However, this one has a curious forked end. Although it might be a modified version of the Tusken Raiders rifle, io9 has pointed out that it looks like the strange weapon Boba Fett was wielding in the Star Wars Holiday Special segment The Story of the Faithful Wookiee.

It certainly is an awesome throwback to the 1978 classic but is it a confirmation that the lead character in The Mandalorian got most of his gear from Boba? There have been speculations that the show's hero is actually using Boba's armor and weapon. However, it's a wild theory and should be taken with a grain of salt.

The rifle is certainly a cool prop but it's hardly the only one Favreau is teasing. The director's other post features a copy of what looks like the infamous ice cream maker that appeared in The Empire Strikes Back.

The Mandalorian is definitely getting everyone excited for the highly anticipated series. Hopefully, we'll get more updates from Favreau as production continues.
