Star Wars: The Mandalorian Might Feature Character With Boba Fett Connection

We finally have confirmation about Jon Favreau's new Star Wars TV series. But is it possible that The Mandalorian is based on Star Wars novels that somehow teased about Boba Fett's fate?

Favreau recently revealed that the show "is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order." In addition to that, the Jungle Book director teased about "a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic." Interestingly, ScreenRant has a theory about who the mysterious character could be.

The outlet points out that the series might focus on a character that appeared in Chuck Wendig's Aftermath book series. In the novels, a human slave named Cobb Vanth is finally freed after the death of Jabba the Hutt. He eventually becomes the sheriff of Freetown on the planet Tatooine, but that's not the most interesting thing about him.

Cobb is actually described as a skilled gunslinger who somehow managed to acquire a set of Mandalorian armor from the Jawas. The armor is believed to belong to Boba Fett who fell into the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi. Needless to say, it would be exciting to know what happened to Boba if his armor does show up in The Mandalorian.

Although Cobb does exist in Star Wars canon and sound a lot like the hero in The Mandalorian, Favreau has not yet confirmed if the character will appear in the series. It is best to take the information with a grain of salt.

There is still a possibility that The Mandalorian will focus on completely new characters who have not yet been introduced in the Star Wars Universe. Nevertheless, Favreau's mention of Boba and Jango Fett in his description has fans wondering if they will be brought up in the series.
