People are certainly glad that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will return for its highly anticipated final season. However, the reason why it was cancelled in the first place is shockingly simple.
Boba Fett voice actor Daniel Logan recently made an appearance at the London Comic-Con (via ComicBook.com). Logan revealed that Disney initially cancelled the show because of its violent content.
"Disney, they cancelled it, I think it was getting a little too graphic — actually, it was getting really graphic," Logan said. "Boba was doing some really, really cool stuff. He started actually becoming a bounty hunter."
The voice actor added that Boba's character arc may have been "just too graphic, I think, for what Disney was used to." Logan also revealed that Boba's fight against Cad Bane was one of the episodes that was never finished.
"We'd actually recorded seven episodes that didn't get aired. So there were so many episodes that were coming up, and Boba was just doing some really cool stuff."
The revelation is certainly a disappointment for fans who were looking forward to Boba's development. Hopefully, we'll get to see this in the upcoming seventh season.
It's understandable why Disney felt Clone Wars might be too graphic for their usual content. However, it's great to know that the House of Mouse has decided to give fans what they want and work on Season 7.
Dave Filoni will return as showrunner in the new season. Although Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 has not yet been given an official release date, the series is expected to air on Disney's streaming service in 2019.
