Star Wars: Robert Rodriguez Reportedly Confirmed for The Mandalorian Season 2

It looks like there are truly exciting things happening in the second season of The Mandalorian. In addition to Rosario Dawson being confirmed for a guest role in the Star Wars series, a new report claims that filmmaker Robert Rodriguez will direct one of the new episodes.

HN Entertainment reports that Rodriguez has already finished work on one of the episodes of The Mandalorian Season 2. Although the sources were not named and the number of episodes Rodriguez worked on was not revealed, it confirms previous rumors that the Alita: Battle Angel director will be part of the Disney+ series.

There were previous reports that Rodriguez was one of the filmmakers who would be directing episodes of The Mandalorian Season 2. The other director James Mangold has already debunked the rumor publicly by responding to a tweet by Ron Howard. Although the Logan director isn't going to be part of the Star Wars show, it's exciting to know that Rodriguez is more likely to be joining the series.

Rodriguez's involvement in the second season of The Mandalorian could also mean a major reunion with Dawson, who previously worked with the filmmaker on Sin City. Although Disney and Lucasfilm has yet to confirm Rodriguez for the series, we're hoping we'll get an official announcement soon.

Production on The Mandalorian Season 2 is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). Nevertheless, the series is already expected to return on Disney+ by October.
