Star Wars Just Made Mara Jade Canon In An Unexpected Place

We're still not sure if Mara Jade Skywalker will actually show up in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Nevertheless, it looks like Star Wars has made Luke Skywalker's wife canon in a completely unexpected location.

Mara Jade is one of the most popular characters to be introduced in the Star Wars Expanded Universe but has yet to make a major appearance since the idea of Star Wars Legends was brought up. Which is pretty strange considering that Grand Admiral Thrawn has already crossed over, right? But hey, a new discovery at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge has brought Mara back and it's announcing that she is very much alive.

A netizen came across the clue at the park and immediately shared it on Reddit. Check it out below.

So in one of the stalls in a Galaxy Edge this is written and if you use the app, translates too...

It's an interesting way to make Mara Jade canon but we'll accept it for now. Who knows, perhaps she will show up at Galaxy's Edge sometime in the future and maybe even cross over to one of the new Star Wars movies or shows that are currently being planned. Either way, it's reassuring to know that she is alive and officially part of Galaxy's Edge, if only in graffiti.

There have been speculations that Mara Jade will eventually show up in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker after Keri Russell was cast in the film. However, it has been confirmed that the Felicity actress will be playing a bounty hunter named Zorri Bliss. Could this be a way to hide Mara's true identity or are we just hoping for too much in Episode IX? We'll find out for sure later this year.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
