Kylo Ren is heading for the stage. It has been revealed that a Japanese stage adaptation of the Star Wars sequel trilogy is happening this November and Kylo will be portrayed by a famous Kabuki actor.
According to Mantan Web, Star Wars Kabuki is a one-day stage event in Tokyo, Japan. It will be an adaptation of the new Star Wars films and Eizo Ichikawa has been confirmed to portray Kylo Ren in the play.
It's interesting to note that the play has chosen a truly talented actor to perform as Kylo although the sequel trilogy somehow focuses on Rey. Nevertheless, Kylo is still an important protagonist (and sometimes an interesting antagonist) so Ichikawa is in for a great role. Although we're hoping to see Ichikawa in action, Star Wars Kabuki is only happening for one night in Tokyo.
Kylo Ren was first portrayed by Adam Driver in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the Silence actor reprised the role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He is expected to return in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker where the character's fate is yet to be decided. Will Kylo succumb to the Dark Side or could he have a change of heart and help with the Resistance? The truth will be revealed in Episode IX.
Star Wars Kabuki will commemorate the final film in the Skywalker Saga and is scheduled for November 28. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will finally hit theaters on December 20.
