It's no secret that Anakin Skywalker had a sad childhood considering that he was born and raised as a slave. But is it possible that the boy only made things more difficult for his own mother? Star Wars writer Charles Soule has just revealed why Anakin was the worst son to Shmi Skywalker.

Soule took to his official Twitter account to point out why Anakin has been terrible to Shmi when they were both still slaves on Tatooine. Take a look at his tweet below.

"YOUNG ANAKIN: I am a mechanical genius - I will build my mom, a woman who probably does mostly manual labor on a backwater desert planet, a droid to help her out!" Soule wrote before adding that the boy then "builds machine designed for high-level diplomatic negotiations and little else." In addition to that, the author commented on how Anakin made the droid "a skinless horror."

Well, he does have a point. Anakin could have chosen to build a droid that could assist Shmi in her work. On the other hand, he may have wanted to create something that could help his mother negotiate in some way. Either way, the droid that would eventually become C-3PO was completely useless to Shmi but went on to become one of the most important characters in the Star Wars Universe.

Soule has been confirmed to work on a new book Light of the Jedi for the upcoming Star Wars: The High Republic project. The novel is scheduled for release on August 25.
