Greedo might be the one Star Wars character whose only scene in A New Hope keeps changing. Fans who started streaming the film on Disney+ were quick to notice that the bounty hunter had a new line just before he was shot dead by Han Solo. So what does "Maclunkey" even mean and why was it so important for Greedo to die saying that?

If you've seen A New Hope on Disney+, you're probably wondering what "Maclunkey" means since it's Greedo's only line that doesn't have a subtitle. However, Bryan Young has confirmed on Twitter that it's actually Huttese for "This will be the end of you."

Now that certainly gives the line a more interesting spin, doesn't it? Although Greedo is claiming that he will end Han, it is actually him who gets killed off.

But wait, this isn't the first time that "Maclunkey" has been said in a Star Wars film. Sebulba also said the same thing in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace when Anakin Skywalker stops him from beating up Jar Jar Binks. You can hear it clearly at the 1:01 mark below.

Young also pointed out that the addition of the new line in the Disney+ version of A New Hope could be something that George Lucas had ordered.

This pretty much confirms that "Maclunkey" is not a new catchphrase or just a random line that was added in A New Hope. It's still nice to know what it actually means and you might want to try it next time you find yourself in a dangerous situation.

A New Hope is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
