Star Wars: George Lucas Visits Jon Favreau On The Mandalorian Set

People are undoubtedly expecting nothing but the best from Jon Favreau's new Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Luckily, it looks like the Lion King director is getting some guidance from George Lucas himself.

Favreau recently celebrated his birthday while working on the highly anticipated series. The Jungle Book director revealed he had an awesome surprise on his birthday when he got a visit from Lucas. Check out the image below.

It's great to see that Lucas is still trying to get involved with the new Star Wars projects. Although it is possible that the Star Wars creator was simply making sure things are going smoothly for Favreau, Lucas might also be offering some tips on what would work for the series. Needless to say, Favreau is clearly thrilled to have Lucas on the set of The Mandalorian.

Favreau also shared another image with Lucas, this time with Star Wars: The Clone Wars executive producer Dave Filoni. It's no secret that Filoni is directing the first episode of The Mandalorian so Lucas might be giving him some great advice as well.

Lucasfilm was sold to Disney back in 2012 but Lucas continues to be the greatest authority on all things Star Wars. Let's hope that his visit on the Mandalorian set will ensure authenticity and just the right touch of darkness in Favreau's upcoming series.

The Mandalorian is currently in production and has not yet been given an official air date. Nevertheless, the Star Wars series is expected to premiere on the Disney streaming service sometime in 2019.
