Star Wars Fans Freak Out Over Han Is Alive Trending on Twitter But It's Not Han Solo

There is little doubt that Twitter has had some strange trends in the past. However, the latest one actually had Star Wars fans freaking out although it had nothing to do with Star Wars.

The hashtag #HanIsAlive became one of the trending topics on Twitter on Friday after the release of the Fast and Furious 9 trailer was released. One of the major bombshells in the teaser was the return of Han Lue, who is believed to have died in Furious 7.

Not surprisingly, Fast and Furious fans were delighted to see Sung Kang reprise his role. After all, Han was a fan favorite and people really wanted the character to return. However, the celebratory #HanIsAlive hashtag also had Star Wars fans confused since they thought it was about Han Solo.

Most Star Wars fans were understandably disappointed that it had nothing to do with Han Solo's return.

Some already knew that it was impossible for Han (Solo) to be back but you can never be too sure these days, right?

Meanwhile, a few netizens were getting their popcorn ready to enjoy the Star Wars vs Fast and Furious battle. (It didn't happen, people were just confused about the whole thing).

Interestingly, Han Lue's nickname is Han Seoul-Oh, which happens to be a tribute to the Star Wars character.

Fast and Furious 9 is directed by Justin Lin and stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron. The film will premiere on May 22.
