Star Wars Episode IX: What Domhnall Gleeson's New Beard Might Mean For General Hux

A little change could mean a lot of big things to fans. Domhnall Gleeson was recently spotted with a beard, leading to speculations about General Hux's fate in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Gleeson was recently interviewed by Metro where he showed up with a full beard. Needless to say, the Last Jedi actor was questioned if this meant he had already wrapped up filming for Episode IX since his character is known for being impeccably clean-shaven.

"No comment," Gleeson said with a nervous laugh before adding that he was given "a week off" from filming. Nevertheless, people can't help but wonder what would happen to Hux in the Star Wars sequel. Is it possible that the First Order officer will be killed off early in the film? Or has Hux decided to go for a new look after Kylo Ren messed up in The Last Jedi?

It is important to point out that the date of the interview was not clarified so there is a possibility that Gleeson was asked about his beard before he began filming for Episode IX. Although a beard might give Hux a mature look, it is likely that the character will remain clean-shaven in the film.

Gleeson has a good reason for being nervous when asked about Star Wars. The Peter Rabbit star has previously admitted that he has read the full script for Episode IX and regrets knowing everything that will happen in the movie. He stated that he is worried he might accidentally leak the whole plot in his sleep. That hasn't happened yet, but people are definitely keeping an eye on the actor in case he falls asleep in public.

Gleeson's most recent project The Little Stranger premiered on August 31. Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
