We're still waiting for the official title for Star Wars: Episode IX but it looks like a new leak may have revealed something about the future. The highly anticipated sequel's possible title could confirm Kylo Ren's fate.
The leak was posted by Reddit user TheGarrettThomas, who claims it comes from "a somewhat credible source." Although Garrett was quick to point out that the source is "batting about .700," he also stated that he trusts the latest leak. In fact, Garrett isn't afraid to attach his real name and social media to the information.
So what is the possible Episode IX title? It could be Star Wars: Son of Darkness. The subtitle is undoubtedly a reference to Kylo Ren and a line from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
In The Last Jedi, Supreme Leader Snoke had decided that the final step to Kylo's training would be killing Rey. He had used the Force to make the girl face Kylo and spoke the chilling line. "My worthy apprentice, son of darkness, heir apparent to Lord Vader, where there was a conflict I now sense resolved, where there was weakness, strength. Complete your training and fulfill your destiny," Snoke said.
If the leak is true then it looks like Ben Solo will be embracing the Dark Side in Episode IX. However, there is still hope that the current trilogy will conclude on a high note so we recommend taking this with a grain of salt.
Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
