People have been trying to get new information from J.J. Abrams' celebratory tweet confirming the wrap on Star Wars: Episode IX. But is it possible that the photo of Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac actually reveals a Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire connection?

Abrams' picture has been analyzed for every bit of information available. However, one fan focused on a particular figure in the background that just might be a familiar character. Take a look at the tweet below.

OK, it's highly unlikely that Dash Rendar will actually have a cameo in Episode IX but we do appreciate some lighthearted trolling.

Although Dash Rendar might not actually return anytime soon, Marvel Comics may have paid tribute to his ship in Shadows of the Empire. In Star Wars #61, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Leia Organa needed to escape Stormtroopers attacking the colony in the moon Hubin. The trio managed to take back the Millennium Falcon while their companions piloted a YT-2400 light freighter just like Dash's modified ship.

The Episode IX wrap photo has also led to speculations that Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron will end up back in Jakku in the film. However, others argue that the set behind them actually represents Tatooine. After all, a return to Luke Skywalker's home would be the fitting end to the Skywalker Saga. Either way, it would be interesting to see the three in a familiar setting once again.

Star Wars: Episode IX has not yet been given an official title. Nevertheless, the film is scheduled for release on December 20.
